About 10 days ago the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland heard the news that LeBron James will be heading to the Los Angeles Lakers to continue on his career after a four-year return with Cleveland.
In the wake of James’ departure, Cavaliers fans are paying more attention to the Summer League way more compared to usual in the last few years. Cavs fans are looking to see what the team could possibly look like without “The King” in Cleveland.
A few notable Cavaliers players are standing out though in the 2018 Summer League.
Cedi Osman has played in two games and his stats are:
20 Points Per Game
8 Rebounds Per Game
4.5 Assists Per Game
2.5 Steals Per Game
Osman is coming in on year two of his NBA playing career.
Ante Zizic in two games has:
20.5 Points Per Game
12.5 Rebounds Per Game
3.5 Assists Per Game
0.5 Steals Per Game
Zizic is only 21 years old and was acquired by Cleveland in the Kyrie Irving trade last summer with the Celtics.
Collin Sexton has had many Cavaliers fans excited showing what he can do in his first three professional basketball games. The following is some highlights of Sexton’s third game in Summer League play:

Sexton has averaged:
16.7 Points Per Game
3 Rebounds Per Game
2 Assists Per Game
0.3 Steals Per Game
Billy Preston was signed by the Cavs as an undrafted free agent and has a lot of potential playing in the ABA but originally committed to the Kansas Jayhawks but was in a car accident and the NCAA investigated into the “financial picture” of the vehicle. Preston left due to frustration in the investigation.
Preston has produced for the Cavs as well in 2 games:
10.5 Points Per Game
4 Rebounds Per Game
1 Assist Per Game
2 Steals Per Game
Don’t get excited over Summer League numbers mainly because the Summer League mainly is consisted of rookie’s and sophomore year players and some G-League players. Time will tell what these four gentlemen can do when the 2018-19 NBA Regular Season begins.
Lastly, Remember that Anthony Bennett had decent Summer League numbers as well in 2013.
Looks good but Anthony Bennett’s stats for summer league were:
13.3 ppg, 7.8 rebs, 0.8 asts, 0.8 stls
I understand being excited for what can be but let’s look at Bennett and how he’s doing currently. Did you know he was on the #Suns? https://t.co/pxtph57Una— Payton Vince (@PaytonVince) July 11, 2018
