Despite being without Darius Garland in this one, the Cavs were able to get past the Bulls with ease. It was a huge step in the right direction for this young team who is looking to take off. It was also their greatest margin of victory over the Bulls ever.

With Garland out tonight, the Cavs started with Donovan Mitchell, Isaac Okoro, Caris LeVert, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. It was the same starting lineup that JB Bickerstaff and his coaches rolled out for opening night.
Heck, even Steven Kwan, the rookie left fielder for the Guardian, found time to be in Chicago for the drubbing!

First Quarter
It was a very slow start for the Cavs actually. They came out of the gate struggling on both sides of the floor and trailed 10-2 early on. But after a JB Bickerstaff timeout, the Cavs flipped the switch and never looked back. At the end of the first quarter they ended up with a 34-25 lead.
Second Quarter: All Cavs
The second quarter was much of the same for Cleveland. The ball movement was a huge key and shots were going in with confidence from the whole team. Donovan Mitchell ended up taking over and showed why the Cavs traded for him. With his performance last night, Mitchell became the first Cavalier to open a season with 30+ points per game.

With everything clicking for them, the Cavs took a 70-54 lead into the half and also shot 10/14 from three in doing so. It was plays like this from the big three that led to the dominant half-time lead.

Third Quarter: K-Love to the rescue!
The Cavs came out of the half looking a little sluggish. The Bulls would not give up and were even able to cut their deficit to single digits. The Cavs were able to get the lead back in no time though thanks to the help from Kevin Love who brought 15 points off the bench in 23 minutes of action.
Fourth Quarter: Pouring it on!
The fourth was a great one for the Wine and Gold as they were able to pull away the rest of the game. The Bulls were outscored 17-35 in the final quarter and the Cavs embarrassed them on their own home floor. It was a great 128-96 win for Cleveland as they next have their home opener tonight at seven against the Washington Wizards at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

Junkyard Dog Chain is BACK!
Robin (Rolo) Lopez, making his Cavs debut, was the first recipient of the coveted “Junkyard Dog” Chain.

Lopez, signed by Cavaliers GM Koby Altman to be a respected veteran giving breaks to the big three, had a strong night, scoring 12 points in 15 minutes. He is beginning to perfect a deadly hook shot and showed it off last night!
