If there’s one wide out on the current Browns roster you would think they would like to keep, it’s that of Travis Benjamin, but he’s going to get some looks in free agency for sure.
Last season Benjamin caught 66 passes for 968 yards with five touchdowns, and his speed is very appealing to a number of teams, one of them being the NFC South’s Atlanta Falcons.
Vaughn McClure of ESPN stated earlier on Tuesday that Benjamin is getting interest from the Falcons, who recently released all-time leading wide out Roddy White.
Here’s what McClure had to say about Benjamin:
Falcons have inquired about Cleveland Browns WR Travis Benjamin, according to source. Benjamin played under Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan in Cleveland during the 2014 season. Explosive speedster with kick return ability. “He’s a pro’s pro,” QB Josh McCown told ESPN.com about Benjamin. “He’s got a great work ethic.”
In four seasons with the Browns, Benjamin has 105 catches for 1683 yards and 10 scores, but last season he showed just how good he can be with a breakout season for a team that won just three games.
Benjamin in the second Browns free agent that is being targeted by Atlanta, as yesterday sources stated that center Alex Mack was getting looks by the Dirty Birds.
