5. The Cavs Know It’s a Big Game
The Cavs have had some slip-ups against below-average teams this season, most recently, a loss to the banged-up Pistons.
The Cavs had some trouble early in the season against great teams, like Golden State and San Antonio, but are 2-0 against the Thunder and 1-1 vs the Spurs. Overall, they’re 3-3 against the three best teams in the West.
Toronto is worthy of being mentioned in the same conversation as those teams. The narrative has changed since the season started. They may not be getting the recognition, but they’re playing at just as high of a level in recent weeks.
Toronto can really make a statement with a win at home and aside from the impact it would make in the standings, the confidence and respect they gain from a win over Cleveland would not be measurable, but would change the dynamic of the Eastern Conference outlook.
Friday morning, Cavaliers Head Coach Tyronn Lue mentioned that his players know how big of a game this is.

If the Cavs’ excuse for losing to Detroit and teams of that caliber is “fatigue” or “chalk it up to a slip-up game,” then there should be no excuse tonight if the Cavs can’t get it done.
It’s going to be two great teams on the court. May the best team win.
