2.) Dave Toub Special Teams Coordinator Kansas City Chiefs
While I believe the Browns are going to be looking for a young coach that is best suited for Baker to ensure that he succeeds as the franchise QB, Toub can be the one oddball that makes a lot of sense. While special team coordinators are not normally looked at as head coaches Toub’s name has been in the coaching considerations for years. If there is one area Browns fans have hated the most in 2018 it could very well be the special teams.
I am not saying because their special teams have been abysmal to go and make the guy a head coach but it could be a nice boost. What interests me the most is the Kansas City and John Dorsey connection. Dorsey did not get to pick Hue as coach and they never seemed to get on the same page either. Dorsey has known Toub from their time in Kansas City so for a continuity standpoint the two of them on a coach and GM basis could gel very well.
There is the consideration that as he comes from Kansas City he may be able to bring some assistants along with him including QB coach Mike Kafka who could possibly see a promotion to offensive coordinator. If you want to go the senior route with a lot of ties that make sense I would not count out Toub as someone who may not be the sexy name but could be the right name.
