5. Brandon Ingram, Los Angeles Lakers
Although his rookie season didn’t shock the world, Ingram is poised for a breakout year in 2017-18.
The No. 2 overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft has all the physical tools and skillset to turn into a star down the road. Being paired with LeBron James and Kevin Love this season would only bring the best out of him.
Once again, I’d propose a scenario where the Cavs attempt to acquire Carmelo Anthony along with Ingram.
Perhaps a deal would send Irving to New York, Love to Los Angeles and Melo and Ingram to Cleveland.
The idea behind this is that even if Melo and LeBron both leave (possibly for LA), the Cavs get a cornerstone type player to build around for the future.
The Lakers would probably have to throw in the salary of Luol Deng to make such a trade work and Cleveland could look to add to its depth with other role players – like Larry Nance Jr.

IF, and to me it’s a big IF, Kyrie really wants to leave because he wants to be the man, then any of these scenarios would be and should be okay with most Cleveland fans. Although I doubt LeBron would much care to work with a young player like Ingram. He wants proven veterans come playoff time.
I’d suggest, if you haven’t already read the article, to read the article on “Three Reasons Why Kyrie Irving is Right to be Upset”. I’m only mentioning this b/c it seems almost all the talking heads are really pouring it on Kyrie for asking Gilbert to trade him.

The LA Lakers just drafted Lonzo Ball. WE don’t need or want Kyrie Irving. Also, Magic stated that Brandon Ingram is untouchable. Have a nice day Cleveland!
