3. Safety play
Damarious Randall and Jabril Peppers must be consistent playmakers on defense. The addition of Randall should allow Peppers to roam more and play like Morgan Burnett or Kam Chancellor. Peppers’ strength is playing in the box and should have the athletic ability to play tight ends in the slot.
If he’s able to help stuff the run and stop the short to intermediate passes, the Browns defense will be tough. Randall, on the other hand, will playing his natural position of FS. Allowing him to be that ballhawk in the middle of the field will allow him to flourish. He was a bit out of position playing corner in Green Bay but expect him to have his best season now that he’s back in his comfort zone. If the safety’s can dominate then that will help the entire defense.
