CLEVELAND – In advance of a Friday road clash vs. the San Antonio Rampage, sixth-year pro defenseman Mark Cundari was reassigned on loan to Cleveland’s Lake Erie Monsters by the NHL’s San Jose Sharks, the Monsters announced Monday.
In 34 appearances this season for the Sharks’ AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, Cundari has three goals, eight points and 29 penalty minutes to his credit.
An undrafted, 5’9”, 194 lb., left-handed native of Toronto, ON, Cundari, 25, logged 39 goals, 133 points and 427 penalty minutes in 315 career AHL appearances for the Peoria Rivermen, Abbotsford Heat, Chicago Wolves, Adirondack Flames and San Jose spanning parts of six seasons from 2010 to 2016. Cundari notched one goal, three points and two penalty minutes in eight career NHL appearances spanning two stints with the Calgary Flames during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
Prior to his professional career, Cundari posted 30 goals, 131 points, 553 penalty minutes and a +56 rating in 248 OHL appearances spanning four seasons with the Windsor Spitfires from 2006 to 2010 and helped Windsor claim back-to-back Memorial Cup Championships in his final two major junior seasons.
