What player, excluding the big three, would you consider the x-factor for the Cavs going down the stretch?
Matt Medley: If J.R. Smith can continue to be as effective as he has been since January, especially when the playoffs come around, he can be a lethal weapon. Granted, this is contingent on the big three staying healthy because we saw last postseason how Smith is not suited to be a second option in terms of scoring.
Eddy Jansen: Honestly, it could be anybody. You could make an argument for just about any rotation player. You could say J.R. Smith because he can score 20 points a night just off of three-point shooting alone. You could say Mozgov because he is their best rim protector. You could also say Richard Jefferson, because he was a new addition to the team last year, and still has the hops and great shooting range.
Adrienne Goehler: JR Smith. If JR is on, he’s red hot. His shot has been dropping and he’s shooting 40% with the deep ball, and slightly higher from the field. We need someone who can keep us in games when the team is struggling offensively and get us back within striking distance when we are down. I think he’s the most important factor outside Big 3.
