2.) Cleveland Browns- Jared Goff QB Cal
The Browns will once again get their chance to draft their franchise QB in the first round after whiffing on Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden, and Johnny Manziel. Goff is the most pro-ready of the top QBs in the draft. He set the Pac-12 record for passing yards and TDs in a season. Wentz is gaining ground but Goff hasn’t done anything to hurt himself so he stays as my top QB.
3.) San Diego Chargers- Joey Bosa DE/OLB Ohio State
The Chargers would really like an offensive lineman after all of theirs went down to injury and Rivers took a beating. With Tunsil off the board it’s between Stanley and Bosa. With the third pick it’s going to be too hard for them to pass up the best player in the draft.
4.) Dallas Cowboys- Carson Wentz QB North Dakota State
Ideally the Cowboys will trade down from the fourth overall pick. They won’t get much of a return for their pick here with their needs at RB, WR, and DT. If they stay here they can take the luxury of taking Wentz. The Cowboys got a better look at him than anyone during the Senior Bowl and with Romo still under contract he can sit back and get adjusted with him missing almost all of last season and coming from a FCS school.
5.) Jacksonville Jaguars- Jalen Ramsey CB Florida State
The Jaguars offense made major strides this year but it’s the defense that needs to catch up. Last year’s third overall pick Dante Fowler will be coming back from a torn ACL this year so the Jaguars take the top defensive back on their board. Ramsey is the top guy this year and his flexibility to play at either corner or safety makes him an even better investment as the Jaguars stay in state again.
