2025 NFL Draft Positional Rankings: Quarterbacks

No. 1 – Cameron Ward | QB University of Miami

Projection: Top 5 Pick

My favorite quarterback from this class, Cam Ward possesses all the necessary tools to be a good quarterback in the NFL. When I watch Ward, I see a possible star. This guy can let it rip, he can make every throw on the field and has some of the best overall playmaking ability I have seen from a quarterback coming out in the draft. While I think he needs to continue to build up his athleticism and brush up on his decision making, he has all the tools to be a great NFL quarterback! If the Browns pick in the top 5 and he is there, he should be their pick at quarterback.

This is a guy who can be a day one starter for a team immediately. He can make throws all over the field and is one of the more athletic quarterbacks in this class! I really like his ability to navigate the pocket and he takes great care of the ball, when he is inside of the pocket. Sanders is also probably the most accurate short to mid range quarterback in this draft, which helps make up for his lack of arm strength. I think whoever gets the number one overall pick will most likely end up taking Sanders. While he comes with a lot of baggage, this guy can play if the right players are around him. It is highly unlikely he will be available when the Browns select, but of he is there, he is another one that you have to pull the trigger on!

No. 3 – Jalen Milroe | QB University of Alabama

Projection: Late First-Early Second

I love Jalen Milroe, he is hands down the most athletic quarterback in this class and like the others in this class, he has all the tools to be a solid player in the NFL. Milroe has one of the best long balls in the class and he honestly has the arm capability to make every throw at the NFL level. One thing with Milroe that I see is his footwork is extremely inconsistent and that can be a problem in the passing game in the NFL. Milroe has faced some adversity in his career from being benched early at Alabama to taking them to the College Football Playoff, so whoever drafts him is getting a tough competitor. Depending on how he does at his pro-day and the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, I can see him moving up even further in this draft. Milroe provides the best scenario for the Browns in my opinion, you can trade back and get more capital while picking up the next best player available and still having an opportunity to select Milroe if he is available.

No. 4 – Quinn Ewers | QB University of Texas

Projection: Mid-Late Second Round

As a highly rated recruit out of high school, Ewers was destined to be a starting college quarterback at a high level. Ewers’s arm strength is off the charts and he compliments his deep passes nicely with great touch. Contradicting to other evaluators, I think Ewers has good footwork on occasion but it is very sloppy at times. He is a competitor, and he plays well in the big game(s). If he can clean up his decision making and his footwork, I really do think he can be a solid NFL quarterback. If someone like Milroe is gone, and the Browns like Ewers, I think this could be a guy who can come in and learn for one or two seasons before taking over as the guy!

No. 5 – Dillion Gabriel | QB University of Oregon

Projection: Mid-Late Third Round

This is a veteran college quarterback. He plays the game the right way and has a lot of good traits that could give him a great chance to be a starter in the NFL. His deep ball is beautiful, and his overall ball placement all around the field is incredible. He manages the pocket well but lacks the overall arm strength and velocity to push the ball downfield while outside of the pocket. Gabriel is a very experienced quarterback who has played in a lot of meaningful games but he still has a lot to clean up in his game. If he is drafted, I do not expect him to be a day one starter at all and It will take some time to develop him, even with his experience. I do not think Gabriel will necessarily be on the Browns radar, but if they don’t pick a QB with their first 3 selections, I would not be surprised if they take him if he is available in the late third round.
