TE LaDarius Green PIT
I’ll put Green here for now but he faces starting the year on the PUP list. His surgically repaired ankle still has him sidelined. Injuries have played a role in his career besides backing up Antonio Gates for four years. Green has only played one full season so far. When he is healthy he has the potential to be a great TE. The reason why I liked him this year is because he is no longer in the shadows of Gates and Pittsburgh opened up a great opportunity. Martavis Bryant is suspended for the year, Heath Miller retired, and Le’Veon Bell is suspended three games. Roethlisberger will need somebody to step up and Green has the athletic ability to be a threat in one of the most powerful offenses in the NFL. If healthy he has a chance to be a great player for some time in Pittsburgh.
D/ST Jaguars
I love the Jaguars this year. I absolutely do. The offense performed last year but they lost so many games because the defense allowed the second most points per game last year with 28. So what do they do in the offseason? They go out and get one of the top free agents in DT Malik Jackson and ballhawking former Pro Bowl FS Tashaun Gipson. They regain their third overall pick from a year ago Dante Fowler who is coming back from a torn ACL. Then they get two of my top five players in the NFL draft with CB Jalen Ramsey and LB Myles Jack. Add on a couple later round picks of Sheldon Day and Yannick Ngakoue, and the line gets some depth. They had a young defense last year but getting reps in and adding on all these new players and I love what they have. Look at the division and the Titans offense isn’t good, the Texans have a lot of new pieces that we haven’t seen how they will gel, and the Colts offensive line was the worst in the NFL. At the end of the day I think the Jaguars will finish top ten.
