QB Jay Cutler CHI
Ah the QB that everyone loves to hate. Yes he had a bad year last year but he had nobody to throw to. Star WR Alshon Jeffery missed seven games, first round pick Kevin White missed all season, Martellus Bennett missed five games, and Matt Forte missed three games. The team should be healthier this year and they worked on fixing a pretty bad offensive line. While Cutler can throw a lot of interceptions, he has shown in the past he can score big in fantasy. Looking at some fantasy backup QBs, he might have the most surrounding talent meaning he might be in for a good year.
RB Matt Jones WAS
His preseason injury might hurt him if he’s not able to go for the opener but Jones has a chance to be a fantasy breakout this season. While he had a monstrous week two last year, he didn’t do much the rest of the way. With Alfred Morris out of the picture, it should come down to him and Chris Thompson to be the starter. A receiving core of Jordan Reed, DeSean Jackson, Josh Doctson, and Pierre Garcon can open things up for Jones.
RB Ryan Matthews PHI
Ryan Matthews looked better than the big money man DeMarco Murray last year. Injuries have always been the concern with Matthews though playing just the full 16 games in one of his six NFL seasons. Doug Pederson comes back to Philly after being the offensive coordinator for three years in Kansas City. If there’s one thing Kansas City had over that time, it was great RBs. Jamaal Charles led the way but even when he went down some of the other guys like Charcandrick West stepped up. With a fragile Sam Bradford and rookie Carson Wentz behind, a strong ground game might be in store for the Eagles.
