The Cavs have signed 6-9 power forward/center Jack Cooley to join the preseason roster.
Cooley played in 16 games last season with the Utah Jazz and played 20 games for their D-League affiliate, the Idaho Stampede. He averaged 17 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in the D-League.
The Cavaliers frontcourt situation is uncertain and Cooley will get an opportunity in the final two preseason games to see if he is a good fit.
Cavs center Timofey Mozgov admitted his knee is “not perfect” and Head Coach David Blatt told reporters Mozgov is not in great shape, so Cooley could be an insurance policy if Mozgov has any setbacks.
