8. Three Females on Commentary Made the Announce Crews Unbearable
Since this was the Mania that was overdone with celebrities (we’ll get to more of that in a bit), for whatever reason Vince McMahon decided it would be a good idea to put three female celebs on the three announce crews – one in each city. In New York it was Susan Saint James, Chicago it was Cathy Lee Crosby and in Los Angeles it was Elvira. It wasn’t that these ladies are not talented or entertaining in their field, it’s just that doing commentary for the biggest wrestling show of the year it was a train wreck.
Imagine the Rock vs Steve Austin match at WrestleMania 17 having Renée Zellweger on commentary promoting ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary.’ That’s what it was like. The worst was Saint James trying to play off how ‘brutal’ the awful boxing match was between Roddy Piper and Mr.T was, and Elvira jumping all over Jesse Ventura and Alfred Hayes during the critical moments of the Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy main event in Los Angeles.
Just an awful decision by Vince to put these three ladies in such a critical role for this Mania.

I actually knew this because I had 2 record from Showtime. I accidentally recorded over it but still had a little bit with showtime symbol on it.
