#7. De’Veon Smith RB
Although Smith has a tough test on Saturday against Ohio State’s elite defense, he has been putting up big numbers in his senior season.
The 5-foot-11, 228 pound running back from Warren, Ohio has amassed 750 yards on 144 carries (5.2 ypc), scoring ten touchdowns in 11 games.
Smith has three games of two or more touchdown runs in 2016, but has a couple hiccups mixed in with an otherwise stellar season.
Last week against Indiana, the Wolverines went to Smith time and time again, and he ran for 158 yards on a season-high 23 carries.
Smith is expected to have a heavy workload again on Saturday, due to Michigan’s quarterback situation.
Throughout the season, the only teams that were able to keep him from busting loose for big games were Iowa, Michigan State and Wisconsin – all of whom have defenses comparable to the Buckeyes.
Ohio State hopes to do the same, but Michigan’s best chance for a victory includes another effective day from Smith.
