CLEVELAND – One of the strangest games from the 2017-18 NBA season unfolded on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Cavaliers never led in regulation.
The Clippers never trailed in regulation.
Neither of these two points pertain to the final, hard-to-believe result.
Despite a slow start, Cleveland was able to make it to the top of an uphill battle, edging past Los Angeles, 118-113 in overtime, to extend its winning streak to a season-high four games, while also extending the opposition’s losing streak to a season-high seven games.
LeBron James scored 39 points, crashed the boards for 14 rebounds and assisted on six passes, all team-leading marks in the victorious effort.
Kevin Love and Dwyane Wade combined for 48 points and 19 rebounds, paving the way for a come-from-behind, resilient team that has recently been decimated by injuries.
Here are three takeaways from the oddball of a game…
